We're honoured to share that Eedi has been selected for the 2026 HundrED Global Collection, which recognises 100 of the world's most impactful and scalable K–12 innovations.

HundrED is a global nonprofit dedicated to identifying and sharing innovations that are making a real difference in education. Their Global Collection represents innovations reaching millions of learners worldwide, rigorously vetted by an international academy of education experts.

The problem is bigger than most people realise

The challenge in maths education is stark. UNESCO reports that 617 million children globally lack basic numeracy and literacy skills, and two-thirds of them are actually in school. The World Bank estimates this will cost $17 trillion in lost lifetime earnings.

As HundrED's article puts it:

"We aren't teaching our young people the skills they need today, and with some 40% of current worker skills predicted to be outdated by 2030, we aren't teaching them the skills they'll need in the future."

Why understanding misconceptions changes everything

Our approach is built on one core insight: the education sector is rich in data but poor in insights. Most assessments come too big, too late, and too bluntly to make an impact.

That's where misconceptions come in. An early misconception in maths doesn't just affect one topic. It compounds. It becomes the foundation for future misunderstanding, creating a cascade of confusion that gets harder to untangle over time.

Our platform uses more than 60,000 diagnostic questions to map each student's mathematical thinking. Every response (correct or incorrect) reveals something about how they're making sense of maths. We don't just flag mistakes. We identify the specific misconceptions driving those mistakes, then recommend targeted support to address them.

When students understand why they were wrong, frustration turns into clarity. Clarity builds confidence. And confidence keeps them in the game.

What the evidence shows

Our 2023–2024 large-scale randomised controlled trial found that students using Eedi gained two additional months of progress over a single academic year, and double that for engaged students who spent just 15 minutes practicing per week.

When students understand the concepts that underpin maths, they're less likely to get knocked off course by frustration. That clarity builds both competence and confidence.

Designing for reality, not ideal conditions

We're working to reach 1 billion learners through partnerships with EdTech providers and publishers. That means adapting our approach for different contexts, including developing tools like DQR, our QR-code-based formative assessment system which lets teachers get whole-class analytics instantly without requiring individual devices for every student.

In good company

We're proud to be recognised alongside Green Shoots, which is transforming maths equity through teacher-centred support in South African classrooms, and Starfish Maker, which is building creativity and resilience through STEAM education in Thailand.

Together, these innovations show what's possible when diagnostics, equity, and creativity drive education design. As HundrED's article puts it, we're creating cultural shifts where students want to come to school, and where maths fosters pride instead of fear.
