Eedi Collaborates with Anthropic on Claude for Teachers Launch, Bringing a Decade of Diagnostic Expertise

London, July 14th: Eedi's Diagnostic Questions - now accessible through Claude - helps teachers understand not just whether students got an answer wrong, but why.

Eedi, the education impact lab trusted by teachers and governments across the globe, collaborated with Anthropic for their new Claude for Teachers initiative. Through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, teachers can now access Eedi's full library of diagnostic questions - representing a decade of research into maths misconceptions - directly within Claude.

Misconceptions: The Why Beyond Right and Wrong

Eedi's Diagnostic Questions are unlike conventional assessment tools. Each question is designed to surface specific misconceptions, revealing not just incorrect answers, but the misunderstanding that led the student to them. Each distractor in a multiple-choice question targets a known misconception, documented through years of research diagnosing and resolving mathematical errors at scale.

Teachers using Eedi through Claude can describe what they need in plain language - a topic, a standard, a misconception they've observed in class - and Claude will surface the most relevant diagnostic questions from Eedi. The questions render as inline cards, showing the question stem, diagram, and answer choices. Teachers can then separately get the correct answer, and the specific misconception with explanations.

"This collaboration with Anthropic gives teachers another free and easy way to use our Diagnostic Questions," said George Mu, President and Chief Growth Officer of Eedi. "Teachers have always been able to access these questions through Eedi directly. What Claude adds is an intelligent search layer. Instead of browsing, teachers can describe what they're looking for in plain language and get exactly the right questions for that learning moment. Eedi’s Diagnostic Questions reveal the why behind a wrong answer, the exact misconception that caused it. Through Claude teachers now get to that insight faster."

Hyperlocal, Global: Country-Specific AI at Scale

Eedi's Diagnostic Questions are aligned to how teachers teach, including curriculum standards, schemes of work, and language. Teachers in the United States can find questions mapped to Common Core or state standards; teachers in the United Kingdom to the national curriculum; through connections with other MCP tools, Claude can help teachers around the world find the best questions for their teaching goals.

Questions are currently available in English and Spanish, with additional languages and locales in active development. Over the next 18 months, Eedi's country-aligned diagnostic content will expand to include India, Indonesia, Brazil, and a number of African countries, each edition mapped to country-specific teaching materials, standards, and curricula.

"Generic AI tools give every teacher the same thing, regardless of where they teach or what their students need, and that's not good enough” says Ben Caulfield, CEO of Eedi. “From experience, we know that what teachers in Rajasthan need is different from what teachers in Malawi or Iowa need, even when the underlying mathematics is the same. This matters most in low-income contexts across the Global South, where access to high-quality, locally relevant teaching resources is often weakest and the need is greatest. Eedi offers hypercontextualized, country-specific AI, and our integration with Claude brings that local relevance into a world-class AI interface. As we scale across India, Indonesia, Africa, and Brazil, every teacher using Eedi through Claude will get diagnostic content aligned to their curriculum and their students. That differentiation really matters."

Built for Teachers, with Teacher Privacy at the Centre

Like Claude for Teachers, the Eedi MCP integration is explicitly teacher-only. No student data is collected or processed through the integration, in line with Anthropic's under-18 policy for Claude. Teachers authenticate with their existing Eedi account and access two read-only tools: question search and question retrieval. The full setup guide and technical reference documentation is available at eedi.com/mcp.

About Eedi

Eedi is a global education impact lab on a mission to deliver measurable learning gains for one billion students by 2030. Known for gold-standard research, Eedi builds math-focused tools that identify, resolve and predict students' misconceptions with high accuracy. At the core of Eedi's platform is a diagnostic engine, an infrastructure layer that maps misconceptions in real time. Eedi's engine also powers Eedi's AI Tutor, which can be integrated into any edtech tool or LLM. Eedi's solutions are used by teachers and students across four continents, in partnership with governments, not-for-profits, leading edtech companies and frontier AI companies, with diagnostic content aligned to local curricula and standards.
